Armed goons kill 24-yr-old, injure 2

A criminal was killed and two others injured when several armed youth attacked them with knives and lathis inside a house in old Faridabad area late on Thursday night.

The police have registered a case against 10 people and a hunt is on to arrest them, Mahindra Verma, SHO, old Faridabad, said.

The incident occurred late Thursday night in Bhud colony in old Faridabad, a 10-member armed gang forcibly entered the house in which the victims - Manoj, Jitendra and Cheeku - were staying.

The police said gang attacked the trio with knives, hockey sticks and lathis to the extent that Manoj, 24, died on the spot whereas the other two were critically injured.

Hearing their cries, several people rushed to the spot and called the police. However, the attackers had fled by the time the police arrived. The injured were rushed to a private hospital. One of the two injured, Jitendra, was later rushed to Delhi for treatment.

A post-mortem has been conducted and Manoj's body was handed over to his family for last rites on Friday, police said. According to police, all the three victims had a criminal background. The deceased had eight cases registered against him in different police stations across Faridabad including the old Faridabad police station.

Police sources also said that the attackers were led by one Tinku Pandit of Baselva colony. Moreover, both sides were involved in small thefts in the area.
