A class X student of Army Public School Noida was killed and her brother injured when a dumper hit their Scooty near a busy market in Noida on Thursday morning.

The victim, Ayushi Shukla (15), was going to school in Sector 37 with her brother Abhishek Shukla (18) on a Scooty when the accident happened near the busy Sector 41 market in Noida.

Abhishek, who took the Class XII exams from the same school, was driving.

"When they reached the Evergreen Bakery Shop, Abhishek took a U-turn. Suddenly, a dumper loaded with construction material coming from Sector 49 hit them," said Anil Samania, Station House Officer, Sector 39.

The dumper hit Ayushi's head and crushed her right hand. Abhishek too suffered injuries.

"Both were taken to the nearby Prayag Hospital," said Samania.

Doctors said Ayushi was declared brought dead. "Abhishek was conscious when he was brought in," said Dr. Ravinder Singh of Prayag Hospital.

"He has suffered multiple deep abrasions but is stable."

"The dumper has been seized and driver Ramesh Kumar arrested," said Samania.

Abhishek and Ayushi are residents of Sector 82 Noida and their father, Colonel K.K. Shukla, is currently posted in Mizoram.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Students Guardian Association general secretary Anoop Khanna said several accidents has taken place near the Sector 41 stretch in the past.
