Delhi Police will enforce restrictions on the movement of vehicles at crossings of several arterial roads such as Rafi Marg, Janpath and Mansingh Road in Central Delhi to facilitate uninterrupted movement of the parade.
Traffic movement will be closed from the morning on both north and south of Vijay Chowk — the assembly point of the parade — till the departure of the contingents.
Police have also planned a massive diversion of buses on those days. “Ideally, one should avoid using his private vehicle in Central Delhi on rehearsal days. Because of diverted traffic, jams are likely to take place on these roads,” said Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic).
