The two-year-old battered baby girl, who is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre since January 18, continues to remain critical.
The baby had shown signs of marginal improvement on Monday and there was not much change in her condition of Tuesday. The baby is still on ventilator.
“Her condition is the same as yesterday. Her breathing rate has not improved,” said a doctor at the trauma centre.
The infection in her blood had come somewhat under control on Monday but she continues to have infection in the lungs and the brain fluid. Doctors are conducting culture on a daily basis to check the level of infection in her body.
Three life-saving surgeries have already been performed on her and the doctors are waiting for the infection to subside in order to conduct another surgery to create a permanent passage inside her body. Through the passage, the doctors will drain out the fluid which is accumulated inside her brain.
The forensic department has taken samples of her DNA profiling and now since her mother has been identified, the test is underway to confirm her parentage.
