With just over a week left for Republic Day, police have started a drive to identify Bangladeshi nationals in Faridabad so that they are deported to their homeland.
Though the police said it was part of their routine duty to identify Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally in Faridabad, sources said the step assumed significance in the wake of the coming Republic Day.
“We have started a drive to identify Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally in Faridabad,” said AK Rao, JCP Faridabad. “The process for identification of such people has already begun,” Rao added.
“We have decided to verify the purpose of visit of other foreign nationals in Faridabad,” Rao said, adding, “over-staying of foreign nationals in Faridabad is being examined.”
