Farmers are once again gearing up to make Bhatta-Parsaul their Ground Zero for land acquisition agitations.
Farmers from Haryana and Delhi on Friday met jailed farmer leader Manveer Singh Tevatia's mother and wife, trying to persuade the two women to address rallies in the neighbouring states. The visiting farmers said they would also ‘expose’ the Congress' claims of Haryana having a pro-farmer land policy.
“Farmers from Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi came to Bhatta-Parsaul. They discussed how to make their agitation successful so that they, like farmers in Greater Noida, can also court orders in their favour,” said Laxman Singh of Bhatta.
“These farmers want the wife and mother of Manveer to visit their villages and address farmers to motivate them and strengthen the agitation," said Sunita Devi of Parsaul village.
“Manveer's wife Nutan and mother Harbiri have, for the time being, expressed their inability to oblige, as they were busy trying to secure the release of Manveer from jail,” said Kiran Devi of Parsaul.
