A 25-year-old biker, working in a private company, was killed when he got crushed between two Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses after being hit by one of the buses in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar on Monday evening.

According to the police, the victim’s motorcycle was hit from behind by a speeding low-floor green DTC bus.

The victim, identified as Vikendra Singh, is a native of Uttarakhand and was returning from work to his rented accommodation in Mayur Vihar Phase-III on his motorcycle when the accident took place.

According to a police officer, Singh was riding his bike behind a DTC bus. “Since the bus moving ahead of him stopped near the bus stop, Singh also had to apply brakes. In the meantime, a speeding low-floor DTC bus rammed straight into his motorcycle from behind. The impact of the hit was so powerful that Singh and his bike got sandwiched between the two buses,” said the senior officer.

The victim, the officer said, was immediately rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
