A 17-year-old boy died on Thursday when he was allegedly trying to perform stunts on his motorcycle, police said.

The victim, Kapil Kumar, was riding the motorcycle along with his brother-in-law Pradeep Kumar on Neel Gaon Road in west Delhi’s Nangloi area.

Kapil died while Pradeep was also critically injured in the accident that occurred when the bike skidded and crashed into the railing.

Kumar was resident of Neel Gaon and was a Class XII student in a government school in the same area.

“Kapil was riding the bike while Pradeep was sitting behind him. He was riding rashly and was also trying to perform dangerous stunts. Kapil lost control and skidded during a stunt and both were dragged for a few metres,” said a police officer.

According to the police, both were immediately taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where Kapil succumbed to his injuries. Pradeep is still in hospital though his condition is said to be stable.
