Bitter end: Friends kill 19-year-old after argument

A 19-year-old boy was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by his four friends in the Roop Nagar area in North Delhi on Monday night.

According to police, the incident took place at around 6 pm in UA block of Jawahar Nagar. The police said that the assailants took the victim Akshay Kumar Dabla away in a Maruti Wagon R car on the pretext of seeing tableaus put up for Mahashivratri.

Police said Kumar was a resident of Malka Ganj and a student of Class ten in Kamla Nagar based SN Jain Public School.

His mother Anita Dabla said, “They took him on the pretext of celebrating Mahashivratri and killed him. He did not have any enemies, I do not know why they killed my innocent son. The family was planning to get Kumar married next year.

Kumar's father Rishi Dabla owns a small dye-manufacturing unit. He alleged that a boy known to his son Parveen killed him.

“Kumar had some argument with Praveen, who was accompanied by three of his friends. It was after that the accused stabbed him. Kumar was immediately rushed to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment,” said a senior police officer.

The officer added that the body of the deceased had been handed over to his family.
