BJP candidate B L Sharma on Saturday filed his nomination papers from North-east Delhi Lok Sabha seat. The octogenarian submitted his papers in the presence of Returning Officer T C Nakh at the deputy commissioner’s office.

The octogenarian submitted his papers in the presence of Returning Officer T C Nakh at the deputy commissioner’s office. He was accompanied by three party colleagues, including Delhi BJP President O P Kohli.
As per the affidavit declaring his assets, Sharma (80) owns a revolver and a 22.5 square yard house in the national capital.
He does not possess a car.
Sharma gets two pensions amounting close to Rs 17,000 per month. One he gets as a former government employee and the other as a former parliamentarian.
Sharma’s wife, Krishna owns ten gms of gold valued at Rs two lakhs and gets a pension of Rs 7,800 per month.
Exuding confidence, Sharma said that he would win comfortably this time too given that he has trounced Congress stalwarts H K L Bhagat and Deep Chand Bandhu in 1991 and 1996 respectively from East Delhi.
The last day of filing the nominations is April 18 and the elections to the seven Delhi Lok Sabha seats and by-election to one Assembly seat Rohtash Nagar will take place on May 7. The counting will be held on May 16.
