The BJP central leadership on Monday summoned Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri and leader of the rebel group demanding his removal for an open discussion to resolve the crisis.
"Senior party leader L K Advani has called both Khanduri and the rebel group leader B S Koshiyari to his residence for a meeting to discuss their grievances and resolve the crisis," a senior BJP leader told PTI.
Members of the Central Core Committee of the party will also be present during the meeting.
Advani had on Sunday refused to talk to the rebel group but since the pro-changers did not give up, he asked them to send a representative to brief him about their demands.
Trivendra Singh Rawat, Agriculture Minister in Khanduri's Cabinet and one of the rebels, briefed Advani about the demands of the Koshiyari camp, sources said, adding that Advani later decided to invite both groups for an open discussion.
The rebel group had met party president Rajnath Singh on Sunday. "He gave us a patient hearing and said he would look into the matter," one of the rebel ministers said.
The rebels alleged that Khanduri was not accessible and acted in a dictatorial manner.
