The Congress on Sunday called BJP’s manifesto a “bunch of lies” aimed at misleading the voters of Delhi. The party claimed that the BJP-led MCD has not been able to fulfill its promises in the past five years and is responsible for the degradation of civic facilities in the city.
“The BJP has claimed that unnecessary taxes will be removed but it has increased toll tax and house tax during their tenure. The party cannot count on a single achievement,” Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Jai Prakash Agarwal said.
He also claimed that during the BJP’s tenure, state of basic amenities in Delhi has only worsened. “During monsoons, roads get waterlogged that causes mosquito breeding. This leads to the spread of diseases such as dengue and chikungunya,” Agarwal added.
Congress minister AK Walia said the MCD schools are in a bad state and in its tenure, the BJP has been unable to complete various projects such as of parkings and underpasses.
