A Delhi BJP delegation met Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi on Thursday over the issue of prevailing law and order situation in the city.

A Delhi BJP delegation led by its president Vijay Goel conveyed the party’s concern over the rise in crime and submitted a memorandum to the police chief.

According to the spokesperson, the BJP delegation discussed various aspects of law and order situation of the city and the commissioner apprised them of the steps the police is taking to tackle the situation. “The commissioner said to deal with the crimes against women, the relevant laws have been amended to make them more stringent,” said a BJP spokesperson.

On the issue of relation with the Delhi government, the police commissioner said that Delhi Police is constantly in touch with the Delhi government and there is no communication gap between the two. “This is in sharp contrast to the chief minister’s statements, who has often complained that the Delhi Police do not pay heed to her concerns,” said Goel.
