Digvijaya Singh

The BJP criticised senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for his statement that Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is Plan 'C' of the RSS to destabilise the UPA government, saying Singh himself represented Plan 'D' of his party, "which could be dirty tricks department or duffer."

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said, "Digvijay Singh is Plan D of the Congress. Whether one calls it dirty tricks or duffer... and Singh always supports all kinds of wrong-doings."

He said "Digvijaya Singh has again made no-holds-barred and non-sensical statements. We are not taking note of these because he is attacking the Congress but he supports terrorists, calls Osama bin Laden Osamaji, and visits the homes of terrorists in Azamgarh."

He also referred to Singh's remarks that those named in the 2G and CWG scams should be given bail.

"The Congress always says this is his personal opinion and distances itself. But the truth is that he speaks on behalf of Sonia Gandhi. Had this not been the case, the Congress would not have merely distanced itself from his comments but would have been critical too."

The BJP spokesperson said, "if the Congress is serious about fighting corruption as stated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday, then it should take action against Goa chief minister Digambar Kamat in the mining scam and act on Delhi Lokayukta report against ministers Raj Kumar Chauhan and P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum scam."
