BJP is launching its national campaign on Friday for Lok Sabha elections with five of its senior leaders addressing public meetings in different parts of the country.
“Five top national leaders of the party will address public meetings across the country on Friday,” BJP spokesperson Balbir Punj told reporters.
Asked if Varun Gandhi, whose alleged hate speeches have kicked up a huge row, is in the list, Punj said he was not a national leader of BJP. BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani will address a rally in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha from where he is seeking re-election.
He will be accompanied by another star campaigner of the party, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Party President Rajnath Singh will address a public meeting in Jammu, where the party had fielded Amarnath land allotment agitation leader Leela Karan Sharma as its candidate. BJP’s chief strategist and general secretary Arun Jaitley will take part at a public meeting in Gaya.
