BJP will raise the issue of alleged corruption and irregularities in the Commonwealth Games apart from unpreparedness for the event during Parliament Session this week, party spokesman Prakash Javadekar said on Sunday.
"We are going to raise the issue of unpreparedness for the Commonwealth Games this week itself... irregularities, malfunctioning, corruption, all matters will be raised in the Parliament," he told reporters.
Javadekar said "various" charges of corruption and irregularities in the Commonwealth Games raised by none other than the CVC is a "matter of concern".
Noting that only a few days are left to start the event, he said BJP will "make the government make the games a success".
He said the unpreparedness for the games is the "primary concern" and the party would like to hold a discussion (in Parliament) on the issue first.
Dubbing the ongoing preparations for the Commonwealth Games as a "basket of scandals", the party had yesterday demanded a judicial probe into the allegations of money laundering and mismanagement once the international event was over.
"There are unacceptable controversies under every aspect of preparations... it is a basket of scandals and the BJP demands a judicial probe into the various irregularities. Since the preparations are on, the probe should take place soon after the event is over," party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman had said.
