Elections are due in five states in the coming two months, and Bharatiya Janata Party’s star campaigners are hard pressed for time. But the party has pulled out all stops to ensure their presence in Delhi.

Starting next week, senior leaders like LK Advani, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Rajnath Singh and other senior leaders, including Jaswant Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Vinay Katiyar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Gopinath Munde and Anant Kumar will hit the campaign trail in the Capital.

“We have got the itinerary of these leaders from our central office, which is coordinating their campaign schedule. All the leaders have been advised to make available at least two days for campaigning in Delhi. They will be addressing public meetings, attending road shows and rallies along with the contesting candidates,” said a senior party leader.

While Modi and Advani will address public rallies in the Capital on November 25 and 26, Murli Manohar Joshi will be present on November 21, 22 and 23.

“They will hit out against the UPA government’s failure to address the two main issues inflation and terrorism that have made the life of the common man miserable in the country,” said a senior BJP leader.

While two senior party leaders Venkaiah Naidu and Sushma Swaraj were in town on Wednesday to support their candidates from New Delhi and RK Puram constituencies, the party will also rope in Bollywood personalities, who are its members, in the future.
