The UPA govt should read the victory of BJP in the bypolls for two Lok Sabha seats and four assembly seats in Gujarat as an ultimatum for its exit in 2014, when the next LS polls will be held, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi said today.BJP wins 2 LS, 4 assembly seats in Gujarat bypolls

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the BJP’s victory in the two Gujarat Lok Sabha and four assembly seats that were held by the Congress was a signal for the UPA to go.

The BJP won Porbandar and Banaskantha parliamentary seats and Limbadi, Jetpur, Dhoraji and Morvahadaf assembly seats in the byelections that were held on Sunday.

The victory has further boosted Modi’s image as the winner for the BJP and taken his possible prime ministerial candidature a notch higher.

“There were by polls for four Assembly and two Lok Sabha seats. Congress had won all of them but today people of Gujarat have given Congress a fitting reply. Congress is in bad shape," Modi said on the sidelines of chief ministers’ conference on internal security.

Terming the result as an indicator of the people’s anger against the UPA, he said "the ruling alliance at the Centre shall read it as an ultimatum."

While congratulating the people for the 'emphatic win', he said the results were an indication of people’s anger against the UPA government.

Addressing reporters in Delhi, Modi demanded a white paper on the country’s security situation.

“As many as ten such meetings have been held during the past ten years. What action has been taken on the suggestions the chief ministers have been making regularly,” he said.

The combative Gujarat CM said the “nation must know that no action has been taken so far.”

He said that he told the Prime Minister that a strong message must go out from the conference that the nation was behind Chhattisgarh and state chief minister Raman Singh in the fight against Maoists and won’t succumb to their violence.

“I voiced some extreme opinion at the conference. I told the government that you are not interested in the security of the nation, as you are using security agencies for politics and destroying them in the process,” he said.

Highlights of what Modi said:

# BJP wins all 6 byelections held in Gujarat. All 6 seats were earlier with Congress. Congrats to the Karyakartas & the winning candidates.

# Heartfelt gratitude to people of Gujarat for reposing faith in the BJP yet again. These victories clearly show people are fed up with Congress.

# This indicates how people have lost trust in the Centre & want change desperately.

# People of Gujarat will not leave path of development for negative politics. The resounding win of the 4 Assembly seats reaffirms this.

# BJP victory in Gujarat LS and assembly bypolls an ultimatum to Congress-led govt at Centre

# UPA not concerned about national security.

# Centre does not trust state governments but willingly funds panchayats.

# This is probably the last meet under UPA, a mere ritual.

# Congress lost the LS by-polls because of its faulty policies.

# Modi questions what UPA has done about internal security in 10 years.

# Modi demands white paper on internal security.

# Why give away multi-agency centre to NCTC, the federal structure is being attacked just by the idea of NCTC.
