The Blueline terror continues unabated. The ‘killer’ buses claimed two more lives on Saturday. With this, the death toll in Blueline accidents has risen to 73 this year. Last year, 100 people were killed in Blueline accidents.
On Saturday afternoon, a man came under a Blueline bus at Mori Gate Terminal in North Delhi. The police have not been able to identify the victim. The incident took place when the bus was entering the terminal. The bus was plying on route number 423 (Mori gate-Deoli)
The police officials said there were no passengers in the bus at the time of the incident. According to eyewitnesses, the victim had been seen loitering in the area for the last couple of days. “The victim fell on the ground and his head was crushed under the rear wheel of the bus,” said Rakesh Kumar, an eyewitness.
Though the police have arrested the driver, Gurmir Singh, and registered a case of rash and negligent driving, they are also examining whether the victim deliberately stood in the way of the moving bus.
In another incident, a pedestrian was killed in Anand Parbat in West Delhi. The police have not yet identified the 30-year-old victim. The victim was crossing the road at Zakira Bridge, when a speeding bus hit him. The police have arrested the driver, Ashok Kumar.
Two students injured in van accident
Two Class XI students of Kendriya Vidyalaya were injured when a speeding courier van hit them in Sector 24, Noida. While Shristi Saini is in the intensive care unit of a hospital, Tanu Aggarwal was discharged after first-aid.
