A blueline bus conductor fired at a rival bus driver in a bid to get more passengers near Noida's Sector 14 A on Monday morning. When the police intervened, the conductor opened fire on them. One policeman was injured.

The incident happened close to a police post around 11.30 a.m. After firing at the driver and police, the bus fled towards Delhi.

The Noida Police informed the Delhi Police. "Once the bus entered Mayur Vihar, the conductor, Lov Dixit, opened fire on Delhi policemen when asked to surrender. He was, however, arrested," said Narender Sharma, Station House Officer, Sector-20.

Two cases were registered against the accused both in Delhi and Noida.

"Praveen Bhatti, the driver of the bus running on route number 300 from Noida to Central Secretariat, lodged a complaint against the conductor of the bus on route number 363 from Noida to ISBT," said Sharma.

Bhatti said in a race to pick up more passengers, the other bus was trying to overtake him and when he did not oblige, the route 363 staff forced him to halt near the police control room. "When Bhatti confronted them, conductor Lov Dixit, he fired from a country-made pistol," said Sharma.

"On his complaint, an attempt to murder case has been registered against Lov Dixit," said Sharma.

A passenger said the clash had started from the Rajni Gandha crossing. At Sector 1 crossing, the staff of both buses fought for a while.

"As I heard the gunshot, I jumped out," said another passenger on bus number 300. The conductor aso threatened passengers.
