In another incident that reaffirmed Delhi’s image as a city on a short fuse, a businessman and his brother-in-law were allegedly assaulted by a bouncer of a restaurant in south Delhi’s Hauz Khas village after his shoulder accidently brushed past an SUV.
The bouncer, identified as Dinesh, has been arrested, the police said.
The businessman, Apurave Goel, 29, a resident of Hauz Khas Enclave, told police that he, along with his brother-in-law Vidit Garg, had gone to Hauz Khas Village to have food on Sunday evening.
“We parked our car and were walking when my shoulder accidentally brushed past the side mirror of an Innova SUV parked on the road. Since it was not an intentional mistake, we kept walking. In the meantime, a muscleman sitting inside the car got hold of us,” Goel said in his complaint.
Before the victims could comprehend what was happening, the muscleman started thrashing them, a police officer said.
During the melee, Goel's phone got damaged while Garg lost his finger ring. The bouncer also threatened the victims that he will kill them, the officer said.
“When Goel made a call to the police control room, the restaurant owner, Aashish, asked them to leave else they will be killed. The medical examination of the victims confirmed they were beaten up,” added the officer. A case under IPC was registered against the bouncer and the owner of Fat Ninja restaurant.
