Four people, including two professional boxers, have been arrested for allegedly robbing a businessman posing as policemen in Shahbad Dairy, outer Delhi.

The four allegedly kidnapped Joginder Singh, took him to a house and photographed him with a woman. They later tried to blackmail him into giving them money using the photographs.

Singh was returning from his office in his car on September 1 when he was stopped by a man wearing a police uniform. "The man asked Singh for his documents. Two people crept up from behind, got into his car, tied his hands and legs and gagged him," MA Rizvi, the additional deputy commissioner of police (outer), said.

Singh was taken to a house where a woman and two men were waiting. "They removed his clothes at gunpoint and took his photographs with the woman," Rizvi added.
The group also took away Rs. 17.5 lakh and other valuables from Singh and dumped him in Shahbad Dairy.

On Friday, Singh got a note from the group demanding Rs. 4 lakh in exchange for the photographs and negatives. He was already in touch the police, who asked him to comply with the wishes of the group.

A police team followed Singh when he went to make the payment. "At 10.30pm, the group came in a sports utility vehicle and snatched the bag containing the money. Another car was tailing the vehicle. The police chased down both vehicles," Rizvi said.

Ramesh Dahiya, Amit, Pawan and a juvenile were arrested from the spot while the woman, Lalita, was arrested after their interrogation. The police are now trying to find the money.

Dahiya, is a farmer while Amit is a state-level boxer. His friend Pawan is also a state-level boxer, while the juvenile is an under-16 state-level wrestler.
