Days after rescuing 18-month-old Ishaan Singh, who was kidnapped by his domestic help from Maharani Bagh, Delhi Police rescued a three-year-old boy who was also kidnapped by the domestic help of the house. The boy was kidnapped on Sunday night from Adarsh Nagar in northwest Delhi and was rescued within 12 hours.

“The domestic help, who is a minor, took the child to a market near his house in Adarsh Nagar at around 9.40pm on Sunday on the pretext of buying ice-cream but did not return,” said Meenu Choudhary, DCP (northwest).

“Suspecting foul play, boy’s father Farid Khan informed police who launched manhunt to search the domestic help and the boy. Investigating through mobile details, the domestic help was caught from Adarsh Nagar Metro station at 6.30am,” Choudhary added.

Farid Khan had hired the domestic help about a month ago for house-keeping without any verification. Khan is a transporter and often keeps cash at his house and the domestic help kidnapped the child for ransom.

Since the domestic help was hired through reference, her previous record was being checked and police raided a house in Mukundpur where they got clues about girl’s location.

According to the police the domestic help had gone missing from her house in March this year after which her parents had lodged a missing complaint with same police station.

“The staff remembered the case as the girl was recovered successfully at that time. We recovered her photo from Mukundpur house and it was established that she was the same girl who had gone missing earlier,” Choudhary added.

This is the second such incident in the city in just a week.
