A day after a highly decomposed body of a 51-year-old businessman was found inside his car, the body of an 11-year-old boy was discovered again from Pandav Nagar area in East Delhi.

The police on Wednesday recovered a decomposed body of a Class II student, who had gone missing after he went out to watch Dusshera celebrations on Sunday evening.

The police said the nude body of the child, a resident of Trilokpuri in East Delhi, was discovered near Sanjay Jheel Park by local residents.

The police control room was informed around 9:30am by local residents who found the child’s body.

The police said they suspect the deceased was sodomised and later killed.

They also added that there were injury marks on the body of the child. A case has been registered at Pandav Nagar police station.

"On Sunday, he had gone to watch Dusshera celebrations at a function organised by residents near Sanjay Jheel Park. When he did not come back to his house till late evening, his father started looking for him in their locality," said a senior police officer.

After they were not able to find him till late on Sunday night, the family filed a

police complaint on Monday morning.

"His clothes were missing which hints at a possible case of sodomy. The assailants may have later killed him fearing that he would reveal their names to the police. We have registered a case of murder and begun investigation," added the officer.

The police also revealed that some people have been picked up in connection with the case and they are being questioned for their alleged involvement in the matter.
