Bringing home a ‘stray’ of hope

Looking for the ideal Christmas gift? Go adopt a stray puppy from the flea market at Select City Walk. Not only will you bring joy to your family, but also contribute to a good cause.

In an initiative with People For Animals (PFA), the mall is giving away rescued pups for adoption every Wednesday.

The puppies are available to anyone willing to give them a home, on a mandatory donation of Rs 250.

“We are not selling the dogs. The donation goes to the NGO to take care of stray puppies,” said Ambika Shukla, PFA trustee. When PFA was successful in giving away 40 dogs for adoption at last week’s Christmas Bazaar, they decided to make it a weekly feature.

Before a puppy is adopted, PFA volunteers ensure prospective owners will be able to take care of the dog.
