Unidentified burglars struck at the house of a businessman in Sector 18, Rohini, and decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 70 lakh on Sunday night.

Police said Mukesh Kumar (48) and his wife and children had gone to watch a movie at M2K mall at Pitampura when the burglars struck.

“We returned from the movie around 6:30 pm in the evening. When we found the main lock of the house broken, we immediately informed the police,” said Kumar, who sells water pumps.

The police found the rooms were ransacked and most of the locks were broken. There were more than six locks installed at different rooms of the house. The burglars either carried master keys or were aware about the locks, police said. “We have questioned the domestic help of the Kumars and are questioning other domestic helps too,” said a senior police officer, who didn’t give his name, as he isn’t authorised to speak to media.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter but so far no one has been arrested.
