Two persons were critically injured when a bus hit their bicycle at Delhi Gate on Sunday.

Brothers Iqbal and Oddin were travelling on the wrong side of the road at the time of the head-on collision at 6pm.

They were admitted to the Lok Nayak Hospital. Sources said they were critical.

Manoj Kumar, the driver of the low-floor bus, was caught by local residents when he tried fleeing. The accident sparked protests and stone pelting by local residents.

A police officer said: "A bus plying on route No. 185 was on its way from Nathupura to Central Secretariat via Daryaganj. As the bus took a right turn from the Delhi Gate Chowk towards LN Hospital, it rammed the bicycle," a senior police officer said.

A passerby made a call to the police.
