A 35-year-old businessman was found dead at his Gandhi Nagar residence in east Delhi on Saturday morning. Police are suspecting his tenant’s role as he has been missing since the incident.

The businessman, SK Sattar, was found dead, with his hands and legs tied, at his house in Multani Mohalla in Gandhi Nagar.

“He was living there with his wife and two children. They had gone to Kolkata to attend a wedding ceremony and Sattar was alone at home. He was also scheduled to travel to Kolkata on Monday,” said a senior police officer.

Sattar was strangulated to death. “His tenant, Zaheer, is the prime suspect as he is missing. They used to have regular fights over the payment of rent,” he added.

Sattar had a shop of readymade garments in Gandhi Nagar. Police said his family members have been informed. The body has been sent for the post-mortem. A case of murder has been registered.
