A 53-year-old businessman was shot dead by two unidentified miscreants at his office in northeast Delhi’s Jafarabad area on Tuesday night. The police suspect it to be a case of personal enmity. The deceased has been identified as Hazi Abdul Matin.

The incident was reported at 8.40pm from Jafarabad area where Matin ran a button manufacturing factory.

“Matin was at his office when the attackers pumped six bullets into his body. He was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival,” said the police officer.

“Prima facie it seems to be a case of personal animosity as the culprits shot him more than six bullets. This indicates their motive was to end the life of the victim,” the officer said, adding that a case of murder has been registered in connection with the incident.
