Three persons were injured when some cab drivers, working for IT firm HCL, clashed with locals in Sector 126 on Saturday morning. Five cabs were damaged and FIRs were lodged by both groups at Sector 39 police station.

“Gaurav Chauhan lodged an FIR on behalf of the locals and Mohit Sharma on behalf of the drivers. Both groups have alleged assault. They have been booked under IPC Section 147 and 148 and 323,” RK Singh, Sector 39 police station SHO, said.

“Investigations revealed that around 7 am on Saturday, some driver was playing loud music in his car. When Raipur residents objected, an altercation ensued. Cab drivers allegedly assaulted some villagers and agitated other residents. Locals rushed to the spot and assaulted the drivers. They damaged five cabs by pelting stones,” Singh said.

“Cab driver Manu Sharma and locals Ashish Kumar and Pawan Singh suffered injuries. They were rushed to the hospital and discharged after dressing of wounds. The three men have been arrested,” police said.
