The sexual abuse of a minor girl by her school bus driver and conductor has sent shockwaves throughout.

To add insult to the injury of dozens of concerned parents who had gathered outside the Vasundhara school, at the centre of the controversy, the school administration first refused to meet them and then went into the denial mode.

The school had declared a holiday on Saturday. "When the parents refused to budge, a group of five people was allowed to meet the administration," a parent said.

"The school officials refused to meet our demands over implementing measures such as installing CCTVs to ensure safety of children. They acted in an arrogant manner," said another parent, requesting anonymity.

The parents said the school administration should be held responsible for the incident, as it was their duty to ensure that children are dropped home safely, especially when they charge such exorbitant transport fee.

On Saturday, the parents of the girl and the school officials went to the Indirapuram police station. "We had conducted an internal-inquiry and had handed over the two accused to the police. Nothing happened inside the school," said a school

official, who went to the police station on Saturday.

Senior police officials have called for a meeting of the parents and school officials from around 91 schools in the trans-Hindon area on Sunday. An inquiry ordered into the incident by Ghaziabad district magistrate is also underway.
