CBI arrests Duranis’ help now
Announcing his arrest, Joint Director of CBI Arun Kumar said that Raj Kumar was subjected to lie-detector test and brain mapping, reports HT. Stain reaction.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested Raj Kumar, the Nepali servant of Dr Praful and Anita Durani, family friends of Dr Rajesh and Nupur Talwar.
A white-coloured T-shirt with bloodstains had been recovered from Kumar’s room on June 13. “As per the forensic expert’s report, the T-shirt contains traces of human blood,” said CBI Joint Director, Arun Kumar.
Asked whether the blood found on the T-shirt matched either with that of Aarushi or Hemraj, Kumar said they had sent it for tests to the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad. The agency did not specify whom the T-shirt belonged to – Kumar or someone else.
CBI arrested Kumar after subjecting him to a series of tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Gandhinagar from June 23 to 26. These included a narco-analysis, brain mapping, psychological assessment and polygraph.
The agency, like it has done after Krishna’s arrest, did not specify Kumar’s role in the crime nor did it comment on what he had divulged. Kumar had been questioned frequently during the last two weeks. According to unconfirmed reports, Krishna, during his narco test, had said that Kumar was after Aarushi.
Kumar will be produced in court on Saturday where the agency would seek his remand. Reacting to the arrest, Praful Durani said, “He was suffering from multiple boils which could have led to some blood stains on the T-shirt. Let the CBI conduct forensic or DNA tests and bring out the truth.” Clearly, if the accused had disposed of the weapon of offence and the mobile phones of the deceased, it is unlikely he would keep bloodstained clothes a month after the incident.
