With D-day looming large, many CBSE students across the city are once again finding themselves cornered by anxiety. So, after witnessing a brief lull in distress calls, professional counsellors and helplines in the Capital are back to being insanely busy.
The Central Board of Secondary Education will declare its Class XII results on Friday. More than 6.99 lakh students appeared for the class XII exams from across the country. "Our phones haven't stopped ringing since this morning. We have received over 60 calls today and most were made by students awaiting Class X and XII results," said Abdul Mabood, director, Snehi, an NGO which launched its helpline on Thursday.
The CBSE, too, have mechanism in place to handle the anxious students and parents. For the first time this year, the board has introduced a Centralized Access System similar to that of a call centre. Students can call 1800 11 7002 from any part of the country.
