Residents of Mohan Estate, Tughlaqabad and Badarpur will have to wait more for a Metro ride. If the Delhi Metro officials are to be believed, Badarpur will be connected with Central Secretariat through Metro only by end of the month.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has already missed the deadline to connect Badarpur with Central Secretariat twice. The first deadline was October 3 and the second one lapsed on Tuesday.

In absence of trial runs, the DMRC could only make the corridor operational partially up to Sarita Vihar.

On Tuesday, DMRC spokesperson said: “We could not start trial run on the stretch between Sarita Vihar and Badarpur. It is difficult to start trial run on the stretch now as we are running trains on high frequency at 2:40 minutes’ interval due to the Games.”

“Once the Games are over, we will start trial run on the stretch. We hope the stretch will be operational by end of October,” the spokesperson added.

The DMRC has also asked those going for the Games closing ceremony on Thursday to deboard at Jawaharlal Nehru Metro Station on the Central Secretariat-Sarita Vihar Metro Line to enter the stadium through gate number 14.

To enter through gate number 9, they should get down at Jangpura Metro Station on the same line and at Jor Bagh Metro Station on Central Secretariat-HUDA City Centre Metro Line to enter through gate number 6.
