Former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chand Mohammed was admitted to Delhi's Indraprastha Apollo Hospital on Tuesday with fractures.

He was operated upon for a hip fracture and dislocation of hip joint. He is in ICU under Senior Consultant, Orthopedic, Dr H Tandon, and his family is not with him.

It is not clear how and where he sustained the injuries. Family sources, however, claimed that he had a fall.

Mohammed was first taken to a doctor in Hisar who referred him to Apollo after preliminary examination.

Chand Mohammed, earlier known as Chander Mohan, has been in the midst of controversy ever since he converted to Islam and married his lawyer friend Anuradha Bali last year.

“The family has disowned him. We have not been in touch since,” his younger brother Kuldeep Bishnoi said.
