Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, who has vowed to launch a nationwide movement against corruption, was on Saturday met by controversial Godman Chandraswami in New Delhi.
Shekhawat had created a flutter in BJP last week by announcing his decision to contest Lok Sabha polls.
The former Vice-President's announcement to return to active politics was construed as an open challenge to the Prime Ministerial candidature of L K Advani.
"This was a routine meeting. Chandraswami has visited him on earlier occasions also," Shekhawat's office told PTI when contacted.
Others who met Shekhawat on Saturday at his residence included BJP MP Shanta Kumar.
