Delhiites woke up to a chilly morning on Monday, as the minimum temperature dropped to 7.5 degree Celsius, a degree below normal.

According to the weatherman, the days are set to get colder this week. "The temperature will be between 7 degrees and 22 degrees," said a Met department official.

Moderate fog has also been predicted by the weatherman in the days to come.

The Railways, meanwhile, cancelled three trains on Monday, due to dense fog over north India.

The Delhi-Howrah Janta express and Rajendra Nagar-Anand Vihar Jansadharan were the trains cancelled.

Forty-four other trains were delayed, some by as much as 12 hours. Trains from northeast and eastern India were the worst affected due to delays because of fog.

The weatherman has predicted shallow fog in the morning and mainly clear skies during the day on Tuesday, with a maximum and minimum temperature of 22.0 and 7.0 degrees, respectively.

The average minimum temperature in Delhi for the month of December is 8.2 degree C and the maximum is 23 degree C.
