Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan came out in defence of Karnataka HC Chief Justice PD Dinakaran saying all allegations were levelled after his name was recommended for elevation to the SC.

“There was not a single allegation when … he became Chief Justice of High Court of Karnataka in August 2008... All these allegations have been raised when his name was suggested to be elevated,” he told CNN-IBN.

He also defended his decision to seek dearness allowance for his wife when the couple was abroad. “Sometime, it is (DA) permissible under our rules,” he said.
