A student was killed and three of his friends were injured in a clash with another group of boys during the Holi

celebration on Wednesday.

Police said the fight took place in D block of Harphool Vihar, which lies in the Nihal Vihar area of west Delhi.

Sonu (18) was a Class XI student. He was playing Holi with his friends Pappu, Upender and Mithilesh on Wednesday morning.

“They had an altercation with some boys in the area. In a fit of rage, the other group beat up Sonu and his friends, before fleeing from the spot. Sonu was hit on the head with a stone,” said a senior police officer.

Sonu was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His injured friends accused four boys — Sunil, Harish, Rakesh and Manoj — of assaulting Sonu.
