15 die in UP
The cold wave snuffed out 15 more lives in Uttar Pradesh taking the toll to 155. Muzaffarnagar recorded a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius. Very dense fog with visibility of 100 metres or less would prevail over eastern UP during next 48 hours.

Plains shiver
Four persons succumbed to the cold wave in Amritsar and one each in Hisar and Narnaul in Haryana, where mercury plunged below zero degrees Celsius. The weathermen have forecast further drop in temperatures.

Rajasthan freezes
Cold wave claimed two lives in Bundi even as temperature in Churu dipped below zero at minus 2.2 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Pilani, recording a minimum of minus 0.8 Celsius while Mount Abu recorded zero degrees Celsius.
