Company cab robbed at gunpoint

An Indica car, being used as a cab by a private company, was robbed at gunpoint by three robbers on Wednesday night. "Three men forced me to stop the car near the sector 37 crossing around 3 am on Wednesday. They got in and and told me not to raise an alarm," said Rajiv Kumar, the driver of the car.

“When I resisted, they assaulted me with a knife and forced me out on a lonely stretch in the sector 71 area,” said Kumar. “The injured driver's attendants brought him to the hospital. His injuries are minor,” said doctor Ravinder at Satya Medical Centre.

“An FIR has been lodged at Sector 39 police station,” said RN Mishra, deputy superintendent of police. In another incident, an Amity University student’s purse was snatched while she was on her way to Indirapuram.

A law student, Shreya Kumari, was with a friend when incident took place. Rs 2,500 cash, her ATM cards and other important documents were in the purse.
