Two days after HT highlighted the plight of the family of braveheart Sunny alias Harender Singh, who was shot dead by a rogue cop, the Delhi Police have finally handed over Rs 50,000 as bravery reward to the family. Senior police officials said that they will also write to the state government to provide compensation to the family.

“At our level, we’ll do our best to help them in future as well,” said IB Rani, DCP, north Delhi.

“We have received compensation from the police. They have assured us of further help,” said Gurjeet Singh, Sunny’s brother. “We would not be able provide job to his brother as he’s not educated enough for a police job,” added Rani.
