Congress activists today staged a demonstration outside RSS headquarters in protest against former Sarsanghchalak K S Sudarshan's derogatory remarks against party chief Sonia Gandhi.
Police used water canons to disperse the protesters who tried to enter the RSS building in Jhandewala, a senior police official said.
The Congress workers were protesting against Sudarshan's derogatory remarks.
"The protesters attempted to enter the RSS headquarters," the official said.
Last night also, a group of people claiming to be Congress supporters staged a demonstration outside the RSS headquarters. RSS leaders later filed a complaint with the police alleging that protesters pelted stones at their office.
Due to the protests, police had to divert traffic on the JNU marg.
