A Delhi Police head constable allegedly shot himself dead in a police station in the heart of the national capital apparently due to depression, police said on Monday.
Rohtas, who joined Delhi Police in 1980, shot himself using his service revolver at Barakhamba Road Police Station in Connaught Place at around 11:10 pm on Sunday, a senior police official said.
The reason for him taking the extreme step was not known as he did not leave any suicide note. Police suspect
that he allegedly committed suicide as he was under depression.

duty was to start at 12 midnight.
He got some sweets from a shop and even distributed among colleagues before he allegedly shot himself, the
official said.

death was recorded at 12:07 am, the official said.
Rohtas, who is survived by wife, two daughters and two sons, has been residing in south-west Delhi's Najafgarh for
the past 25 years. His children are married.
