A 35-year-old man, who was arrested five years ago for stalking actress Mallika Sherawat, was arrested again as he has jumped parole. He is involved in more than 13 criminal cases.

"He stayed in Tihar jail for three years. He sought parole for five days on the pretext of appearing in exam but did not turn up back on March 5, 2010 at Tihar Jail and thus jumped parole," said OP Mishra, DCP (east).

The accused, identified as Rajesh Dalal, was apprehended from Vivek Vihar on Sunday along with his associate Rajeev (28).

A 9mm pistol and four live cartridges were recovered from him. Dalal, whose father Dhara Singh is an advocate, is a graduate.

"He had jumped parole recently. We received an input about his presence in Vivek Vihar and a trap was laid," Mishra added.

In October 2006, Sherawat allegedly uttered some derogatory words against Jat community and Dalal decided to take revenge for it.

"He did a reece of her house, tenanted flat in Bandra, Mumbai, but could not execute his plans," DCP Mishra said, adding, "In November 2006, teams of Delhi Police and Mumbai Police arrested him from Kolhapur and he was brought to Delhi."
