A Delhi police officer has been charged with outraging the modesty of his subordinate, an additional sub-inspector, at the workplace by forcing her to watch a pornographic film and making advances towards her.
Holding that a prima facie case was made out, metropolitan magistrate Ekta Gauba said, "In view of the fact that he used criminal force with an intention to outrage the modesty of the complainant by touching indecently the body of the complainant as well as kissing her, the offence under section 354 IPC (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) is prima facie made out."
On August 1, 2010, the complainant was posted on Sunday duty in the DCP (West) office. Her complaint said the accused came to her on the pretext of showing that his mobile phone has internet facility but started showing her a 'blue' film. Despite the complainant's objections, the accused forced her to watch the film.
The woman officer said she then left her seat but the accused told her to report to him in the evening on the pretext of some official work. She said when she went up to him the accused started kissing her and told her that he loved her.
The accused had said he was falsely implicated by the complainant as he has complained against her for not reporting to work on time.
