Two days after armed car-borne criminals lifted two Pomeranian dogs of Noida authority’s chief project engineer Santram Singh from near his Greater Noida house on Saturday evening, the police have failed to trace the pets.
Santram’s domestic help Nem Singh, who had taken the pets out for a walk, had noted down the vehicle’s registration number. “But it has now been found out the miscreants had fooled the help. The number has been found to be that of a scooter,” said a police officer.
“I have lodged a case with the police, pasted posters with pictures of the pets in the city and announced a reward of R15,000 for relevant information, but to no avail,” said Santram.
The engineer’s family has been frequently searching for the pets – Dodo (5) and Sona (4) – in the city and nearby villages, without success.
