The Special Cell of Delhi Police is probing the source of a crank call made to the President's house on March 28. The caller had claimed to be from the office of Sonia Gandhi.

The caller reportedly used abusive language after he was told the number he had dialled does not entertain general phone numbers. The caller, who claimed to be calling from 10 Janpath, the official residence of Gandhi, made a second call around 9 p.m. to the exchange on the same day asking the call to be put through. He threatened to take up the matter "at the highest level", the police said.

A case has been registered.
