Parliamentarians on Saturday remembered freedom fighter Dababhai Naoroji, fondly called as the 'grand old man of India', on his 185th birth anniversary.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and senior BJP leader L K Advani offered floral tributes at the portrait of Naoroji in the Central Hall of Parliament.
Born in Bombay on September 4, 1825, Naoroji was the President of the Indian National Congress thrice.
Several MPs and senior Parliament officials also paid tributes to Naoroji, who died at age of 92.
A booklet containing the profile of Naoroji was brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha secretariat.
Naoroji's portrait was unveiled by the then Speaker of Lok Sabha G V Mavalankar in the Central Hall of Parliament on March 13, 1954.
