The allottees of DDA's 2014 housing scheme will start getting possession of their flats from January 1.
The move comes within five weeks of the draw of DDA's biggest housing scheme to date.
Senior DDA officials said they will initially start giving possession of flats in Dwarka followed by Narela and Rohini. While there were about 2,300 flats up for grabs in Dwarka, Rohini had close to 10,000 flats in the scheme.
"We will start giving the possession of flats in Narela from January 15 and in Rohini from January 25," a senior DDA official said. There are, however, about 4,000 flats that still are in different stages of construction and the DDA will give their possession only after March 2015.
In its biggest housing scheme to date, the DDA had offered 25,034 flats in different parts of the Capital. Over 10 lakh applicants had shown interest and filled up forms. The draw took place on November 25.
To make the allotment process smoother, the DDA this time took a slew of measures including organising special camps for the allottees to submit their documents. Those who have been allotted flats in Dwarka can get their documents verified till Wednesday. Special counters for the allottees in other areas will start functioning from January 1 and will remain open on all working days, including Saturdays.
"Successful applicants, irrespective of the locality, can deposit their documents for verification at these counters. We are also sending intimation letters to all the successful applicants along with a login ID and password so that the successful applicants can check their allotment details online," a DDA spokesperson said.
"Those applicants who cannot deposit the document in person can also send the same through post before January 31, 2015," the spokesperson added.
To make the process easier, the DDA has also done away with its earlier condition of getting applicant's photograph and other documents attested by gazetted officers.
"The applicant can self-attest those documents," an official said.
